Sant Pau meal

A good meal.. again

The entrance of Sant Pau
With Bill in town, I wanted to do my Barcelona Michelin Star restaurant meal experience with him.
Picked this place from reviews and multiple friend's recommendations.

Tasting menu dishes (13 course food + 10 course wine)
The physical journey

This place is tucked in a little town by the ocean, and takes about 1 hour by car or train from Barcelona.
Train station from the hill top
We took the Rodailes Renfe train operated by Renfe to get to Sant Pao del mar station from Place Catalunya.

As it's a Tuesday in December, it's still dark when we arrive to the town and when we left the town. So we never saw the ocean from the town.
Also, the train has stopped running by the time the meal is done. So we booked a hotel in the town before heading home the next day.

Hotel entrance.. very basic amernities
The culinary journey
The tasting menu is focused on spices.
What impresses me the most is the presentation of all the dishes.

Table settings with a Xmas Dove lights in the garden
Stunning 3 course amuse bouche (my favourite).. Cod croquette, red potato cone filled with berry  puree, anchovy paste in butter crackers
First course of tuna tartar (Bill's favourite for the night)
2nd course of Kimchi with pork belly that melts in the mouth

3rd course: Onion soup but topped with creamy air. Very unique

4th course: Raw and fried squid with cerviche (twist to calamari)

5th course: toast bread soup with cracker (My favorite presentation, with the crackers made of labneh sponge, egg plant and agar agar)
Presentation of the toasted bread soup

6th course: Langostine tail with tomalley sauce (yum)

7th course: Twist to hot pot with Waggyu beef and romesco sauce
8th course: Turbot fish perfectly cooked

9th course: Veal cube deep braised, compact with sweet potato and black turnip sauce

10th course: Macaron with goat cheese and vegetables. Sweet finishing to a savoury meal

11th course: first dessert which is black lemon sorbet wiht orange juice
12th course: Pear with wine ice cream and fruits. Best dessert presentation for me
13th course: Pistachio and chocolate ice cream
This is a petit four course, with 9 sweets featuring 9 different spices
We are so full that we had to bring the petit four home =)
